About the Role
We are seeking a Distribution Centre Operations Manager to lead and drive performance across our DC network. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective distribution operations while maintaining a high level of customer service. You will oversee all aspects of DC operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfilment, and dispatch, ensuring compliance with company policies, processes, and KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the DC Operations team to achieve service excellence.
2. Steer a safety-first culture and ensure adherence to all WHS policies.
3. Oversee daily DC operations, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, pick, pack, and dispatch of goods.
4. Manage workflow planning and resource allocation to meet operational demands.
5. Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Modern Star’s Operational Excellence strategies.
6. Ensure on-time, in-full, and error-free order fulfilment across all customer segments.
7. Build strong relationships with internal teams and external suppliers, including transport and labour hire agencies.
8. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), driving accountability within the team.
9. Support budget management and cost-control initiatives.
10. Drive a high-performance culture through engagement, coaching, and leadership.
What We’re Looking For
1. Experience in warehouse or distribution centre operations management.
2. Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to engage and develop teams.
3. Knowledge of WHS regulations and safety management in a logistics environment.
4. Experience with workflow planning and resource optimisation.
5. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
6. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
7. Experienced in WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) implementation, optimisation, and process improvement for efficient warehouse operations.
8. Ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
9. Experience in performance management and reporting.
10. Ability to work across multiple sites.
11. Tertiary qualification in logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
12. Familiarity with ERP and TMS systems.
13. Lean Six Sigma or equivalent certification in process improvement.
