As the IT of the REWE Group Austria, we work together with more than 700 employees to develop innovative IT products and services for all our corporate divisions in Austria and abroad, setting the tone for modern trade. With cross‑functional teams from the four divisions of IT Consulting, IT Development, IT Operations and IT Organization, we develop tailor‑made solutions for clients and partners. Together we are digitalising commerce – from store solutions and e‑commerce to the supply chain, marketing and CRM.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the development of our international e‑commerce platform through backend services.
* Design and develop APIs that power customer touchpoints (Web, App) for shopping and self‑service experiences.
* Work on key business domains such as payment, loyalty and pricing, helping shape critical customer and operational processes.
* Ensure long‑term usability and scalability of our IT systems through thoughtful software architecture and performance optimisations.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary agile teams to solve complex challenges and deliver high‑quality solutions.
Qualifications
* Profound completed education in the field of IT/software development with proven experience.
* Excellent knowledge of Java/Kotlin, Spring (Boot) and software architecture.
* Proficiency with HTTP and event‑based APIs.
* Familiarity with Microservices, Docker (Kubernetes), CI/CD (Gitlab), Kafka.
* Hands‑on experience with AI‑supported development tools and processes (code assistance, reviews, automation).
* Independent, structured and reliable working method.
* Conceptual and analytical skills with attention to detail.
* A team player who likes to share and discuss ideas.
* B2 English proficiency; German is a plus.
