Your responsibilities Excellent research needs state-of-the-art IT infrastructure and innovative digital services. With a team of about 50 experts, we will redesign the Institute's digital landscape over the next few years and implement an ambitious digital transformation programme to facilitate the Institute's rapid growth. As part of our strategy, we are planning to establish a new low-code process automation platform for implementing workflows to support core administrative processes. As part of our software development team, you will have a leading role in designing, implementing, and operating applications on the Appian platform, and integrating these services with other applications at ISTA. This includes mission-critical processes like the recruiting of new scientists. Your responsibilities include: * Planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining applications on the process automation platform Appian * Integrating Appian applications with other systems at ISTA * Administration, configuration, and optimisation of our Appian environments * Defining technical specifications based on business requirements * Providing 2nd and 3rd-level support for the developed applications * Providing technical and end-user documentation Your profile * Degree in computer science, software engineering or a similar field, or equivalent professional experience * Experience with low-code/no-code platforms focussing on process automation is a plus (e.g., Appian, Bizagi, Flowable, Camunda, Microsoft Power Platform) * Knowledge of business process design using BPMN * Programming experience with a scripting language, profound knowledge of web standards * Experience with microservices-based web architectures and service integration via REST APIs * Strong analytical skills and creative approach to solving complex, non-standard technical problems * Ability to work independently, with a passion for learning new technologies * High degree of focus and accuracy, also when working on multiple tasks simultaneously * Reliable team-player with good communication skills * Working language is English, good working knowledge in German is an advantage Apply now Your benefits * Education & training * Cafeteria * Childcare * Free shuttle bus * Multiple health offers * Pension insurance This position comes with possible overpayment depending on education, qualification and work experience.
