Reports to: Director of Academic Enterprise and Commercialisation
Teaching Schedule: Mondays, 10:00am–1:00pm and Wednesdays 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Contract Duration:
The course runs from 17 November 2025 to 6 February 2026, excluding the Christmas break (22 December 2025 to 4 January 2026) when no teaching will take place.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Associate Lecturer to teach on the Research Degree Preparation short course. This role involves guiding students through the process of developing their PhD proposals and research statements, supporting their understanding of creative research methodologies, and providing structured academic and pastoral feedback. You'll be working with a diverse, international group of students who aspire to progress to doctoral-level study in the creative arts.
Key Responsibilities
 * Deliver engaging online teaching sessions focused on research methods, proposal development, and academic writing.
 * Provide formative and summative feedback to help students articulate clear research aims, methodologies, and contexts.
 * Support students in understanding both theoretical and practice-based PhD research models.
 * Facilitate online tutorials and seminars, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
 * Work collaboratively with the course team to maintain high academic standards and a consistently excellent student experience.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
 * Holds a PhD in a relevant creative discipline (essential).
 * Has strong knowledge of both theory-led and practice-based doctoral research.
 * Has experience teaching or supervising students at postgraduate or doctoral level.
 * Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills.
 * Is committed to supporting diverse and international student cohorts.
