Job Description:

The Internal Logistics & Supply Chain Operations Manager oversees the daily operations and strategic direction of hospital logistics, including inventory management, shipping/receiving, equipment maintenance, and fleet operations. This role ensures supplies and equipment are efficiently managed to support patient care, while maintaining compliance with institutional and regulatory standards. The manager also leads supply personnel, driving performance, process improvement, and cross-department collaboration.

Job Responsibilities:

25% Leads the management of hospital-wide supply chain operations, including the oversight of supply rooms and automated inventory systems such as Omnicell. Ensures medical, surgical, and operational supplies are readily available, properly stored, and accurately tracked to support uninterrupted patient care. Develops and refines inventory workflows to reduce waste, optimize stock levels, and improve fulfillment efficiency. Manages hospital supply personnel, including staffing, training, scheduling, and performance oversight to ensure effective operations and adherence to institutional standards. Provides leadership to promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement within the supply chain team.

20% Oversees daily freight dock activities, including shipping, receiving, and internal distribution of goods and equipment. Troubleshoots delivery discrepancies, storage issues, and vendor coordination challenges. Works closely with supply vendors and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries, while maintaining a safe and organized dock environment.

15% Coordinates repair and maintenance requests for hospital equipment and non-clinical systems. Acts as the liaison between operational departments, facilities management, biomedical engineering, and external service providers to ensure timely service, minimal downtime, and appropriate documentation of maintenance records.

15% Manages hospital-owned vehicles, including preventive maintenance, usage logs, licensing, and compliance with state and institutional vehicle operation policies. Ensures vehicle readiness for transport functions and collaborates with departments that rely on mobile operations.

10% Property Custodian-Maintains accurate records of institutional property and equipment, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and organizational asset tracking requirements. Collaborates with the Hospital Coordinator, Assistant Director and Finance on audits, reconciliations, and inventory validations. Implements best practices for life-cycle management and loss prevention.

10% Supports purchasing activities by ensuring procurement practices align with institutional policies and regulatory standards. Works with internal stakeholders and vendors to maintain strong relationships, monitor contract performance, and ensure timely and compliant acquisitions of supplies, tools, and equipment.

5% Other Duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or other related fields and 3 years of related experience.

Degree Substitutions: Will consider bachelor's degree in other fields with years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or other related fields and 5 years of experience.


Additional Job Description:

Vehicle Operation -University employees whose principal responsibilities of employment include operating a vehicle, performing maintenance on a vehicle, or supervising any public employee who operates or maintains a vehicle and positions with an expectation to travel will require an MVR and are subject to drug screens per PM-33/PS-67/FASOP HR-04.

Safety and Security Sensitive Job - Safety and security-sensitive positions are defined as those positions where any form of substance abuse may affect University activities through unsafe work behavior/performance or error in judgment; or where substance abuse could jeopardize the safety and well-being of employees, other personnel, or the general public, or cause significant damage to University property. This includes positions requiring firearms, access to controlled substances, handling hazardous material, operating heavy equipment or machinery, etc. These positions are subject to drug screens per PS-67/FASOP HR-04.

Emergency Essential Personnel -This position may be required to report to campus in times of emergency and/or closure per PS-18.
Operation Essential Personnel - This position may be asked to work during an official closure, but who is otherwise not required to report to the physical campus during a closure and whose absence does not present a risk to the safety, resources, and well-being of the campus per FASOP HR-01.
