We are a leading research institute in the field of microsystem technology. The Institute of Sensor and Actuator Systems, Research Unit of Microsystems Technology, offers a PhD position for 31 hours per week. The total duration is 3.5 years with an initial one‑year contract, expected to start in March 2026.
Tasks
 * Conduct research in microsystem technology focusing on advanced materials such as doped AIN and silicon carbide, and on unconventional design approaches such as bistability.
 * Supervise and collaborate with students in research projects and laboratory work.
 * Write and publish scientific papers and complete a PhD dissertation.
 * Participate in scientific conferences and events to present research findings and engage with the academic community.
Your Profile
 * Master’s or Diploma degree in physics, material science, electrical engineering, nanotechnology, mechanical engineering or a closely related field.
 * Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
 * Passion for research and innovation, with an interest in both scientific curiosity and practical applications.
 * Enthusiasm for teamwork, mentoring students, and contributing to a dynamic research environment.
 * Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work creatively and collaboratively.
