We are seeking a highly skilledHead Chefwith expertise in Italian cuisine to lead the kitchen of an exciting new restaurant concept in Malta. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to showcase authentic Italian flavors, manage a talented team, and deliver a memorable dining experience within a dynamic hospitality environment.
TheHead Chefwill oversee all kitchen operations, from menu creation and team leadership to food quality, presentation, and hygiene standards. The role requires a balance of creativity, operational know-how, and strong leadership to establish the restaurant as a top dining destination.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design, develop, and execute menus that highlight the richness and diversity of Italian cuisine
2. Ensure consistent quality, flavor, and presentation across all dishes
3. Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, including prep, service, and administration
4. Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, creating a culture of professionalism and teamwork
5. Control costs through effective stock management, purchasing, and waste reduction
6. Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and HACCP compliance
7. Collaborate with F&B management on concept development, seasonal updates, and special events
8. Source authentic ingredients and maintain strong supplier relationships
9. Monitor guest feedback and adapt offerings to continuously improve the dining experience
Candidate Profile
10. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a senior culinary role, preferably as Head Chef or Sous Chef, with a focus on Italian cuisine
11. Strong knowledge of traditional Italian dishes, regional specialties, and modern culinary techniques
12. Culinary degree or equivalent professional training is preferred
13. Proven ability to manage a team in a high-volume or fine dining environment
14. Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
15. Financial awareness, including menu costing and kitchen budgeting
16. Attention to detail, creativity, and passion for authenticity
17. Must be based in Malta or willing to relocate
