The Physical Performance Coach will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to develop and deliver world class Physical Performance support to Red Bull athletes and teams.
Job Description
Physical Assessments and Analysis
Assist, lead, and execute physical performance assessments, including strength and power, speed, agility, conditioning, and movement with performance and rehabilitation athletes.
Develop efficient assessment methods, relevant to the athlete’s performance question or goal, and use various data sources to establish the athlete’s current performance status and opportunities.
Programming
Deliver evidence-based Physical Performance (S&C) programming to include strength and power training, speed, agility, conditioning and movement sessions, and pre-gen/regeneration to help athletes achieve their performance goals.
Along with the Head of Physical Performance and the wider Physical Performance team, seek opportunities for integrating innovative approaches and technologies to training/challenges.
Coach athletes to improve and refine technical capabilities, with regards to physical performance, both in/on and off the field.
Data driven development
Work alongside the Performance Innovation team to continuously improve physical assessments, training and any other interventions to deliver performance outcomes.
Interpret athlete data and make decisive, impactful training recommendations.
Review athletes’ improvements over time using data generated displays and tracking.
Collaboration
Collaborate with experts across all APC divisions (Sports Medicine, Sport Science, Nutrition, Mental Performance and Performance Data) and participate in interdisciplinary approaches/practices with the other staff members who work in the APC performance system.
Collaborate and support ongoing development of the Physical Performance team.
Qualifications
A proven record of supporting athletes through the process of assessment, programme design, implementation and programme monitoring aligned to the needs of the athlete and sport.
Experience working in high performance (Olympic sports/professional sports) as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
Seeks opportunities for innovative approaches to training/addressing challenges.
Ability to effectively support and coach a wide range of individuals (different age groups, multiple sports/athletes) build rapport, create change and align coaching methods to athlete goals.
Ability to work with athletes and their coaches to highlight and develop areas linked to athlete’s short- and long-term development.
Ability to develop highly effective working relationships.
Strong planning and organisational skills, ability to prioritise, meet timescales.
Ability to reflect upon work to create positive change.
Experience working in close collaboration with a variety of specialists, stakeholders and a number of teams or individual athletes.
Degree level in Sport and Exercise Science (or equivalent). Essential.
Master’s degrees in S&C or or other sport sciences. Desirable.
S&C Accreditation / equivalent (or working towards). Desirable.
Additional Information
Due to legal reasons we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary according to the collective agreement for this position (EUR 3.805). However, our attractive compensation package is based on market-oriented salaries and is therefore significantly above the stated minimum salary.
