The
Merchandiser Softgoods – Europe (f/m/x)
plays a key role in growing Black Diamond's softgoods categories—apparel, packs, gloves, and beyond—across Europe. In this role, you'll be a key driver for growth, connecting local market needs with our Global Product Creation team to ensure consumer insights, retail realities, and channel strategies come together to shape collections that truly resonate.
Your focus is twofold: defining and executing the European softgoods assortment strategy, and managing product lifecycles to deliver commercial excellence across both Wholesale and DTC channels. Working closely with Marketing, E-Commerce, Sales, and Global Product teams, you'll help ensure that Black Diamond softgoods reach the right consumers, in the right way, at the right time.
Your Responsibilities
* Growth & Assortment Vision – Drive the strategic growth of Black Diamond Apparel in Europe by defining and executing the European softgoods assortment vision.
* Market Expertise & Insights – Act as the key link between the European market and the global product team, providing consumer insights, trend analysis, and competitor intelligence to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
* Go-to-Market Planning – Develop and execute the go-to-market calendar in collaboration with Marketing, E-Commerce, Sales, and Product teams, ensuring product stories and priorities are clearly communicated.
* Product Lifecycle Management – Manage the full product lifecycle from launch to phase-out, including product storytelling, sales support, and readiness across all channels.
* Digital Merchandising & Brand Presence – Partner with E-commerce to strengthen digital merchandising and brand visibility while overseeing showroom setup and sample management.
* Commercial Strategy & Inventory Management – Contribute to pricing, inventory, and sell-through strategies to maximize profitability and maintain strong brand positioning.
* Analysis & Optimization – Analyze product and category performance to continuously refine assortment, planning, and sales strategies.
What You Ideally Bring With You
* 2–5 years of experience in merchandising, buying, or assortment planning in retail/e-commerce, ideally with premium consumer or softgoods brands.
* Strong commercial instincts, coupled with a genuine passion for outdoor gear and consumer experience.
* Analytical skills with confidence in using numbers to guide decisions (forecasts, KPIs, and financials).
* Excellent organizational and project management ability, with a structured approach to complex tasks.
* Team-oriented and collaborative, with the ability to influence across functions.
* Proactive, hands-on, and adaptable in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder setting.
* Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus, but not required.
