Operations Manager | Transport & Logistics
The Company
We are thrilled to partner with a high‑growth Australian road freight organisation operating at serious scale. This is a business that moves critical freight daily, holds itself to uncompromising standards, and promotes from within based on performance, not just tenure. You will join a senior leadership team that expects excellence, moves quickly and backs strong operators.
Your Role
As the Operations Manager, you will report to Executive Leadership and own a customer oriented, time‑critical business unit in transport and warehousing operations serving major clients. You will lead teams including customer service, scheduling and frontline leaders, with full accountability for performance outcomes. Responsibilities include:
* Taking full ownership of end‑to‑end warehouse and linehaul operations, consistently achieving DIFOT performance at elite levels
* Running a disciplined daily operational rhythm, resolving constraints before they impact service
* Enforcing strict pre‑departure, load restraint and dispatch controls without compromise
* Ensuring all departures meet critical time windows across multiple freight legs
* Driving fleet and driver utilisation with precision planning and zero tolerance for drift
* Leading safety as a non‑negotiable standard — targeting zero LTIs and complete system compliance
* Managing fatigue, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and regulatory obligations with absolute diligence
* Delivering accurate operational reporting and driving continuous improvement across cost, service and asset performance
About You
* You're eager to work with an innovative, energetic, performance‑led executive team
* You have demonstrated results in leading heavy fleet or linehaul operations in high‑accountability environments
* You are metrics‑obsessed; DIFOT, utilisation and safety performance are numbers you know before anyone asks
* You remain calm under pressure and make fast, informed decisions
* You understand client expectations and the consequences of operational failure
* You lead visibly, in the yard, warehouse and with your supervisors
* You understand margin, cost discipline and contract performance
* You hold people accountable and lift standards consistently
