GENERIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Intern shall work under the direct supervision of an officer designated by the UNIDO Country Representative of the UNIDO Country Office in Vietnam and shall be engaged as follows:

a. Exposed to the regular core functions of the GLO/RFO/FLD/ASP/VIE and as such shall have the opportunity to observe the day-to-day operations and engage in on-the-job training in specific actions delegated by the Supervisor.

b. Engaged in a specific self-contained assignment described below:

* Compile background information/material from already available resources for the promotion of UNIDO.
* Contribute to the coordination and creation of promotional materials (gadgets, banners, flyers), success story videos and features in magazines, in coordination with graphic designers, film teams, print suppliers, journalists, UNIDO project teams in Viet Nam and project partners and ensure materials are distributed effectively.
* Help facilitate media coverage and press events, contributing to public outreach efforts.
* Contribute to the planning and execution of outreach campaigns and events, such as contests, webinars, Instagram Live sessions, and media features (e.g., TV shows), in cooperation with government partners, UNIDO project teams in Viet Nam, beneficiaries, and media contacts.
* Support the drafting of press releases and news stories before and after events; assist in liaising with newspapers and media outlets, helping facilitate communication and gather media coverage and published articles following the events.
* Assist in monitoring and reporting on communication activities, including tracking media coverage and supporting photo, audio and video documentation of major project events when needed.
* Support the organization of UNIDO events, as required, such as preparation of invitations, agendas, materials, list of participants and ensure the participation of the right or related participants.
* Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

c. Other Special emerging Projects that may enhance the learning experience of the Intern.

The Intern will be required to prepare an end-of-internship report, which will be submitted to and cleared by HRM.


MINIMUM ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Education: Enrolled in a second level university degree programme (master's or equivalent) or higher; or begin the internship within one year of completing a second level university degree; or be enrolled in the final academic year of a first degree programme (bachelor's or equivalent); or begin the internship within one year of completing a first level university degree. Only accredited institutions will be considered.

Field of specialization: Communication

Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Fluency in Vietnamese is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.

Other skills:

* Experience in communication or public relations
* Familiarity with UN or development work
* Office software (MS Office or Google Workspace)
* Digital tools (Teams, Slack, Zoom)
* Social media & basic analytics
* Web & CMS familiarity (WordPress, HTML)
* Writing, editing & internal communication
* Event support & time management


TERMS AND CONDITIONS

* Internships at UNIDO are full-time and shall be for a period of three to six months. For internships fully sponsored through partner institutions, the maximum duration shall be twelve months, subject to prior HRM agreement. Extensions beyond the initially agreed duration are not permitted.
* Interns receive a monthly stipend based on their duty station.
* Interns are responsible for living expenses, accommodation, visas, and related costs.
