Role Overview:
As the Information Security Officer, you will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's overall information security strategy. You will play a critical role in protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our client's information assets, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices. You will work closely with various departments to foster a security-aware culture and proactively mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and maintain information security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security weaknesses.
* Develop and implement security awareness training programs for employees.
* Monitor security systems and logs, analyze security events, and respond to security incidents effectively.
* Manage and maintain security technologies and tools (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus, data loss prevention).
* Ensure compliance with relevant data protection laws (e.g., GDPR), industry regulations, and security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001).
* Develop and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans related to information security.
* Manage security audits (internal and external) and implement necessary remediation actions.
* Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate security requirements into projects and systems.
* Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats, trends, and technologies.
* Report on the status of information security to management.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
* Proven experience (ideally 3+ years) in an Information Security Officer or similar role.
* Strong understanding of information security principles, frameworks, and best practices.
* Experience with risk assessment methodologies and vulnerability management.
* Knowledge of relevant data protection laws and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
* Experience with security technologies and tools (e.g., SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS).
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Strong organizational and project management skills.
* Fluency in English is essential; German language skills would be a strong advantage.
* Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
