About the Role
We are seeking a driven and dynamic Transport & Logistics Manager to join the team at our site in Tullamarine and lead our supply chain operations.
From managing warehouses to overseeing transportation and distribution, this role is key to ensuring our operations run smoothly, efficiently, and with a huge focus on top‑notch customer service and safety compliance.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead & Inspire: Manage and motivate logistics, material planning, and 3PL teams, fostering a safety‑first culture.
Transport & Fleet Management: Optimise routes, manage fleet maintenance, and handle 3PL agreements for smooth, on‑time deliveries across multiple shifts with a focus on detailed shift handovers.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) in the role of Operator, Employer, Loading Manager, Prime Contractor, and Scheduler, ensuring all goods prepared, received, and loaded are safe and compliant.
Customer Relationship Management: Build strong customer relationships by ensuring timely deliveries and resolving issues quickly.
Reporting and Financial Management: Analyse and report on operational performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Drive achievement of departmental KPIs including DIFOT (Delivered In Full, On Time), productivity, and service delivery targets. Oversee budgets, payroll, and expenses to ensure cost‑effective logistics operations.
Team Development: Lead with coaching, training, and feedback to help your team excel as a highly effective and engaged unit.
What You’ll Bring:
Experience: You’ve got at least 5 years of experience managing transport and logistics operations, with solid leadership skills. Fleet operations, logistics software (TMS), and inventory management are your bread and butter.
Skills & Knowledge: You’re a logistics guru who knows all about CoR, HVNL, transport optimisation, and safety regulations. You’re also a pro at communication, problem‑solving, and keeping customers happy.
Leadership: You’re a hands‑on leader, dedicated to leading with integrity who knows how to motivate your team, keep things safe, and boost performance.
You collaborate with all team members with respect and high levels of engagement.
Customer Focus: You know how to juggle client expectations, hit deadlines, and deliver top‑tier customer satisfaction.
Procedures and Policies: You’re policy and process driven, keen to have robust ones in place and ensure all team members operate in line with workplace and legislation standards.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or something similar. Bonus points for certifications in logistics or transport management and any heavy vehicle or forklift licenses!
