Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa’s network clients, including issuers, acquirers, merchants, processors and Fintechs. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, we solve the most strategic problems for our clients.
The Central European (CE) consulting practice within VCA provides consulting and analytics services for Visa clients in the region. We apply our deep expertise in the payments industry to provide solutions that assist clients with their key business priorities to drive growth and improve profitability. Our team is seeking a Consulting Analyst based in Vienna to join our Core‑Consulting practice.
This role involves contributing to the development and implementation of high‑impact projects for our clients in the CE region, specifically on the Austrian market.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Responsibilities
Support the VCA team in the delivery of projects for Visa clients across various domains, from payments, digital, products to strategy.
Assist in the delivery of detailed data gathering and analysis to obtain valuable insights.
Support our project managers in the delivery of projects to understand effective project management.
Perform market and trend analyses using Visa’s comprehensive global market research capabilities and data tools.
Support in developing Thought Leadership to learn about the future of payments and retail banking.
Act as part of a global team experiencing the power of a big global technology company.
Support strategy to market activities including but not limited to workshops, client meetings, content development, etc.
Support the development and maintenance of VCA service sales and delivery collateral (toolkit).
Support the VCA team with ongoing operations, administration and team building activities.
Qualifications
Fluent English and German, both written and spoken.
2 or more years experience in consulting.
Payment industry, digital payments or payment processing experience preferred.
Strategic and analytical thinking with a strong attention to detail that leverages multiple sources of information.
Able to understand and start to disaggregate problem statement into distinct pieces of analysis.
Use and adapt templates for unique client scenarios, optimizing structure to demonstrate and articulate key messages.
Ability to execute quantitative and qualitative analysis with some guidance.
Basic takeaways from the data and starting to craft storyline; ensure data quality and leverage data to support decision‑making in project management.
Strong team player with a willingness to collaborate across levels and functional experts.
Strong multi‑tasking skills and ability to adapt.
Proficient and ideally a power‑user of spreadsheet and presentation tools.
An interest in learning advanced analytics tools (SAS, R, Tableau, etc.).
An interest in payments, financial institutions or consumer lending a plus.
An affinity for payments technology, FinTech and digital.
