Be at the forefront of AI-driven precision immunology for drug discovery.
Graph is an R&D-focused precision immunology techbio. This is a research lead position for a scientist who wants to deeply interrogate and validate immune-mediated disease drivers predicted via systems‑level immunity interrogation. Curiosity-driven candidates with mixed wet/dry lab experience are highly encouraged to apply.
We are a pre‑seed stage techbio company dedicated to transforming drug discovery in the immunology space by precisely understanding disease biology through iterative, causal discovery starting from realistic primary patient models. Our founders have authored several landmark publications in precision medicine, previously exited a precision medicine startup, and built a unique translational research program in a large pharma‑tech drug‑discovery company.
Apply if you want to drive discovery and validation of key causal drivers underpinning immune‑mediated inflammatory diseases through realistic biological and computational models prior to designing therapeutics.
Your role
Lead and support target validation programs at the beginning stages of drug discovery; design and perform experiments internally and via CROs to develop next‑generation I & I drugs.
Apply tailored molecular‑biology tools to test complex hypotheses and validate targets of immune‑mediated diseases.
Understand and deploy new technologies aimed at characterising immune functions and deploy them appropriately.
Validate outputs of early‑stage chemical screens, to hit validation studies for hit‑to‑lead nomination.
Be part of a flat cross‑functional team that deeply appreciates the challenges of each domain and is determined to make a dent.
Your profile
Ph.D. in (molecular) immunology, cell signalling and/or relevant industry experience.
Expertise in molecular biology techniques centered on quantitative RNA and protein methods, flow cytometry and cell modification.
Familiarity with R and Python workflows for data analysis is close to mandatory.
Experience in primary immune human cell workflows and genomic modification of primary immune cells is a plus.
Strong research interest and prior track record in managing internal and CRO data streams is a plus.
Deep appreciation for reproducibility best practices, e.g. through meticulous recording of experimental parameters in electronic lab notebooks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (German not required).
Solution‑oriented, persistent systems thinker with a proven track record of translating research into conclusive experiments.
Why us?
The opportunity to be part of a pioneering, highly collaborative team with a purpose.
Healthy participatory culture from the beginning: you will significantly shape company decisions, culture, and strategy.
A compensation package including salary, benefits and an early equity stake with substantial long‑term upside.
This is an 80–90% on‑site position with some home‑office flexibility. The base of operations will be in the Klosterneuburg area on the ISTA campus, roughly 30 minutes outside of Vienna (reachable by sponsored shuttle bus, car, and bike).
In keeping with Austrian legal requirements, we advertise a minimum gross yearly salary of 80,000€ for this position. However, the actual salary will be higher, based on the candidates’ qualifications and experience.
Graph is a precision immunology techbio that leverages perturbation modeling from primary patient cell samples combined with multi‑omics data to deliver transformative targeted therapies and biomarkers for immune‑driven diseases. Graph believes that, due to an incomplete understanding of complex immune‑mediated diseases, millions of patients are left without adequate treatment options – and AI‑trained models can solve this.
