Overview
As a Data Scientist (f/m/d) in the Women’s Health Ultrasound segment, you will lead AI and automation projects for GE HealthCare’s Voluson ultrasound scanners, driving technical innovation to elevate clinical care in alignment with our vision: “Building a world where healthcare has no limits!”

In your role you will lead AI and automation projects end-to-end: from initial concept discussions with clinical experts, through data operations and AI model training in collaboration with engineering partners, to integration in the ultrasound scanner software and eventual regulatory approval applications for global markets.
Responsibilities
* Feature scoping: engage with clinical stakeholders to understand customer pain points and convert ideas into technical specifications forming project plans and timelines.
* Data operations: prepare data plans for AI development, facilitate data collection, process and manage data including annotation tasks and quality assurance.
* AI development: oversee development and training of AI models with internal and external partners; provide expert guidance to ensure AI results meet customer expectations.
* Ultrasound software integration: coordinate the integration of AI algorithms into the scanner with C++ software experts; communicate timelines, requirements, and feedback across teams; ensure thorough testing with clinical partners.
* Regulatory submissions: prepare and consolidate information for regulatory documentation; ensure verification designs meet latest regulatory expectations and support clinical experiments to confirm AI algorithms meet requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
* Master degree in AI, Computer Science, or related technical fields
* Strong knowledge and background of AI
* Advanced knowledge of Python, Databases (SQL), Git
* Basic experience with other programming languages, preferably C++
* Fluent in English
* Self organized, disciplined and reliable way of working. Needs to manage their own time effectively and set their own goals.
* Able to distil information down to key points and express information clearly and concisely.
* Successfully finished a complex Data Science project (academic or industrial)
Desired Qualifications
* PhD in AI, Computer Science, or related technical fields
* Multiple years of experience leading complex projects in a business environment
* Background in image processing, preferably medical imaging
* Experience with Data Science projects
* Demonstrated skill at working in a cross-functional team setting
* Demonstrated skill in presentation and influencing skills

* In Austria, the minimum pay for this position starts at €70,000 per year; final salary discussed based on qualifications and experience.
