Your Responsibilities
Excellent research needs state-of-the-art IT infrastructure and innovative digital services. With a team of about 50 experts, we will redesign the Institute's digital landscape over the next few years and implement an ambitious digital transformation programme to facilitate the Institute’s rapid growth. As part of this strategy, we are refining, consolidating and extending the service portfolio of our internal software development. Join us on an exciting journey to make this transformation a success! As part of our Software Development team, you will play a leading role in defining, managing, and overseeing the execution of our development projects. These projects include continuous improvements of our existing services, the modernisation of legacy applications, the introduction of a new low-code platform, and the integration of new services like Microsoft 365 into our system landscape. Your responsibilities include:
Working on requirements engineering, with our business analysts, internal clients, and external partners
Writing technical specifications and acceptance criteria from business requirements
Breaking down larger features or epics into user stories and technical tasks for developers
Organising the backlog, defining release packages, managing development tasks
Continuously improving the software development process at ISTA
Acting as a Scrum Master (leading stand-ups, planning sprints, reviews and retrospectives)
Defining tests, coordination and implementation of user acceptance tests (UAT)
Providing technical and end-user documentation
Your Profile
Higher education in computer science, information technology, business management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong knowledge of the system architectures, APIs, databases, and general technical concepts relevant to our applications
Prior experience in a technical role (e.g. Developer, Technical Analyst, or QA Lead)
Excellent working experience in Agile development and Scrum methodology
Scrum certification (Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master)
Good knowledge of project management methods and tools as well as business process design
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders
High degree of focus and accuracy, also when working on multiple tasks simultaneously
Working language is English, good working knowledge in German is an advantage
