National Key Account Manager
– Rare Diseases/Endocrinology – 6798 URA

native German speaking
National Key Account Manager for Rare Diseases/Endocrinology to join the team to develop the medical strategy for their new products in Austria. This is a permanent role and can be worked remotely with occasional visits to office.
As Key Account Manager for Austria, you will drive growth and access for our clients priority brands by building strong partnerships with specialist HCPs, key hospitals, and stakeholders. Combining deep scientific expertise with commercial excellence, you will shape patient pathways, raise disease awareness, and deliver sustainable business results—always with rare disease patients.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Day-to-Day Activities
* Drive sales performance by identifying and prioritizing opportunities, delivering strong scientific value propositions, and achieving defined sales targets.
* Build and maintain high-quality customer engagement through regular in-person and group interactions, presentations, meetings, and events.
2. Territory (Account) Planning & Analysis
* Develop deep understanding of customers, stakeholders, patient pathways, and decision-making processes to optimize access and prescribing.
* Analyze market data and customer insights to prepare for launches, identify barriers and opportunities, and support strategic partnerships.
3. Business (Account) Planning
* Own and execute account and business plans aligned with regional objectives, delivering launch KPIs and sustainable sales growth.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, medical, access teams, and hospital stakeholders to drive differentiation and portfolio success.
4. Implementation of Local Plans
* Effectively implement local strategies to achieve sales targets and launch objectives, adapting plans based on evolving market access conditions.
* Execute KOL engagement and stakeholder initiatives in partnership with internal teams to maximize impact.
5. Administration & Activity Reporting
* Ensure accurate, timely reporting of activities, insights, and performance through CRM and business review processes.
* Maintain compliance with SOPs, ethical standards, and customer engagement guidelines in all interactions.
6. Quality Systems & Ways of Working
* Adhere to quality systems, SOPs, and country-specific codes, ensuring high standards across all activities.
* Demonstrate strong capability in impactful remote customer engagement using digital platforms.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Life science degree or higher qualification is needed (i.e. PharmD, MD, PhD)
* Atleast 10 years of experience in sales.
* Proven commercial experience in hospitals sales, speciality care and/or rare diseases (orphan drugs)
* Proven account management of small-medium-large hospitals
* Familiar with hospital and wholesalers purchasing process
* Familiar with drugs reimbursement processes
* Solid understanding of the Austrian healthcare system
* Experience and network in the Haematology, Oncology, Immunology space is a major plus
* Native speaker German (written and spoken), good knowledge of English
