Regional Managing Director – Western Austria
We are partnered with a large, privately owned European logistics group with a long-standing presence across Central Europe and a reputation for operational depth, decentralised leadership, and long-term investment in its regions. As part of continued regional development, the business is appointing a Regional Managing Director to take full ownership of its Western Austria region.
The Opportunity
The Regional Managing Director will hold end-to-end responsibility for a multi-branch region, overseeing a broad logistics portfolio including road freight, rail, sea freight, customs, and contract logistics.
The role carries full regional P&L ownership within a sizeable and established platform, alongside a clear mandate to drive growth, strengthen leadership capability, and further develop the regional structure.
Operating within a decentralised model, this is a role for a leader who enjoys autonomy, accountability, and being close to the business — commercially, operationally, and culturally.
Key Focus
• Full leadership of regional performance across operations, commercial development, and financial results
• Ownership of a significant regional P&L
• Driving sustainable growth across the full product portfolio
• Building and empowering strong local management teams
• Acting as the senior decision-maker for the region within a decentralised structure
The Profile
This opportunity will appeal to a senior logistics leader with regional or multi-site experience who combines commercial credibility with strong people leadership.
Backgrounds may include:
• Senior leadership roles within road, intermodal, sea freight, and/or contract logistics
• Regional, cluster, or large branch management environments
• Growth-oriented organisations where autonomy and accountability are central
Strong German language skills are essential, along with a willingness to be locally based in Western Austria. This role is not suited to Vienna-based profiles.
Why This Role
• Genuine Regional MD mandate with autonomy and influence
• Full P&L ownership within a large, stable European logistics platform
• Opportunity to shape and grow a region rather than inherit a finished structure
• Long-term leadership appointment with clear strategic backing
If you are a senior logistics leader open to exploring a regional MD role with real scale and autonomy, we welcome confidential expressions of interest.
