VP of Technology
Location: Austria (relocation supported for EU citizens)
We are looking for a senior technology leader to take ownership of a large-scale, customer-facing platform within a fast-growing digital environment. This role is ideal for candidates already based in Austria or those open to relocating, with a preference for EU citizens due to relocation requirements.
As VP of Technology, you will be responsible for shaping the technical direction, organisational structure, and long-term scalability of a complex product ecosystem. You will work at the intersection of engineering, product, and business, ensuring that technology initiatives directly support commercial growth and customer experience.
You will lead multiple engineering teams and define how platform capabilities evolve to support a portfolio of products operating across international markets. A key part of your mission will be enabling a modular, scalable architecture that supports multiple brands and use cases within a unified ecosystem.
This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands‑on understanding of modern engineering practices, capable of driving both organisational and technical transformation.
What you’ll be doing
* Define and execute the overall technology strategy for a multi-product platform serving a global user base
* Lead and scale distributed engineering teams, fostering ownership, accountability, and high performance
* Drive the evolution of platform architecture towards modular, scalable, and reusable services
* Partner closely with product and business stakeholders to align technology with commercial goals
* Champion modern engineering practices, including domain-driven design, API-first development, and cloud-native architectures
* Ensure high standards in system reliability, scalability, and performance through data-driven decision making
* Build and evolve engineering processes, culture, and organisational design to support long-term growth
* Contribute at leadership level to broader technology and business strategy
What we’re looking for
* Extensive experience leading engineering organisations in product-driven environments
* Proven track record in building and scaling high-traffic, customer-facing platforms
* Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalable architectures, and API-driven design
* Experience with cloud environments (ideally AWS) and modern DevOps practices
* Strong product mindset with the ability to balance technical excellence and business impact
* Experience driving organisational and technical transformation in complex environments
* Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments with multiple stakeholders
