The Role
An exciting opportunity for an Advanced Speech and Language Therapist to join a developing Bairns’ Hoose service. The role sits at the centre of an innovative, multi‑agency, trauma‑informed model supporting children and young people who have experienced adversity. You will provide specialist speech, language and communication support for children with complex communication differences, many of whom face significant barriers to engagement, participation and understanding.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
Full-time, Fixed Term
Base location - Ladywell, 94 Duke Street, Glasgow G4 0UW
Shift Pattern - 9 am - 5 pm
Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist assessment and intervention for children and young people with complex communication needs.
* Work as part of an integrated, multi‑agency Bairns’ Hoose team to improve access, safety and outcomes.
* Support service development, quality improvement and innovation within a new and evolving area of practice.
* Deliver training and consultancy to colleagues and partner services.
* Contribute to shaping a trauma‑informed service model for children and young people.
* Engage in regular supervision, CPD and professional leadership structures.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
* A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
* HCPC registration (current).
* Membership of RCSLT.
* Experience working with children and young people with complex communication needs.
* Motivated to work with complexity, collaboration and system‑level change.
* Commitment to ongoing CPD, reflective practice and professional development.
