JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Event Technology Specialist provides a broad range of technology support to college-wide events, with experience in audio, video, computers, and lighting, operating large- and small-scale audiovisual systems.
Works with internal and external clients, setting up, testing, and trouble-shooting, responsible for providing great customer service, to ensure successful events.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
* Serves as an ambassador for the College at all events realizing the importance of the event to the client.
* Sets up and operates all audiovisual equipment required for each event, including, but not limited to, computer-based PowerPoint programs, computer-based video, and computer-based audio, multichannel wireless microphones, audiovisual control systems and lighting.
* Troubleshoots and maintains routine maintenance, and repair of site technology equipment.
* Develops event technology design based on customer and event needs.
* Develops and maintains records of each event, contact person, and audiovisual set up provided.
* Maintains equipment inventory and supplies.
* Works collaboratively with facilities, information technology and other departments to implement event technology systems.
* Identifies and attends training to keep skills relevant and to keep abreast of new technologies.
* Schedules events using 25Live and assist with overall events as needed.
* Communicates with college staff and event clients when requirements for upcoming events are unclear or exceed in house capabilities.
* Recommends upgrades to existing audiovisual equipment and potential new equipment.
* Supervises and schedules additional AV staff as needed.
* Attend work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned.
* Support other department functions as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
* Proficient in using multiple large and small-scale audiovisual systems, including audio, video, computers, and lighting.
* Ability of multiple in house college systems and knowledge of how to obtain additional capabilities when required.
* Ability to interact professionally with all levels of meeting professionals and speakers.
* Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Possess strong collaboration skills with a commitment to quality service.
* Possess excellent organizational skills with attention to details.
* Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to manage high volume of work with accuracy and tight deadlines.
* Ability to work independently with brief instruction.
* Ability to read documents and instructions.
* Ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends.
* Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Associates degree in related field.
* Two (2) years of full-time work-related experience in a technical, audiovisual capacity.
* Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered.
* Valid driver's license and insurability to drive college vehicles is required.
* Must pass a background check.
