The Faculty of Medicine at the Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU) has successfully established itself as an innovative location for medical teaching and research in recent years. With the modern Medical Campus in the immediate vicinity of the Kepler University Hospital, the Faculty offers scientists an attractive and efficient environment for training, research and interdisciplinary collaboration. A central element of this infrastructure is the Center for Medical Research (ZMF), which is one of the technologically leading facilities for medical research in Austria with its state-of-the-art equipment. The ZMF offers optimal conditions for biomedical, laboratory-based research and is located at three sites in the immediate vicinity of the Med Campus in Linz.
The further strategic development and professionalization of the center requires a targeted expansion of management and control competencies. As part of the further development of the ZMF, we are therefore looking for a qualified manager to help shape the next stage of development and take over the operational management of the center. The overall operational management with an independent task profile is assigned directly to the overall management of the ZMF and supports them in operational implementation.
Job Duties:
* Operationally responsible overall management of the Center for Medical Research (ZMF)
* Deputy to the overall management of the ZMF
* Operational budget responsibility (budget planning and control, tariff management, etc.)
* Coordinating management of the individual Core Facilities (CF) incl. requirements planning and resource management
* Strategy development together with the Scientific Advisory Boards and the CF heads
* Optimization of processes and procedures
* Coordination of special projects (e.g. big data research structure, biobank, construction projects, etc.)
* Promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and scientific exchange
Your Qualifications:
* Completed university degree with several years of professional experience in the medical and/or science-related field
* Several years of management and leadership experience
* Experience in organizational development and in setting up new structures
* Understanding of economic interrelationships and efficiency
* Solution-oriented, structured and service-oriented way of working
* Very good written and spoken German and English (level C1)
* Experienced with MS Office

* On the basis of full-time employment (40 hours/week) and at least 3 years of creditable previous service, the minimum salary in accordance with the collective agreement is € 3,714.80 gross per month (14 x per year, CA Job Grade: IVb, level 1) with a willingness to overpay depending on relevant qualifications and professional experience
