Overview
POSITION SUMMARY: Oversees the Goodwill Industries of San Diego County’s (GISD) learning and development programs and manages the Learning and Development Coordinator. Works with the Coordinator to effectively implement the Career Pathway Program, Paid Training Program, and Department Training to ensure the achievement of learning outcomes. Designs, develops, and delivers new training to enhance program effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
* Oversees learning and development programs including Onboarding, Career Pathway Steps, Paid Training Program, and other organizational training.
* Ensures programs are implemented according to organizational direction and meet specific outcomes.
* Supports Department Managers with the Career Pathway Steps program, including onboarding plans and training opportunities.
* Facilitates Career Pathway Classes and onboarding sessions.
* Coaches managers on training needs to develop ambassadors and meet department goals.
* Designs and develops curricula for various training programs with approval from the Director.
* Oversees administration of the ADP Learning Management System, ensuring proper usage and recommending courses.
* Guides the Learning and Development Coordinator in training and supporting instructors.
* Supports onboarding of new hires and promotes career advancement programs.
* Collaborates with management and community partners to provide quality workshops and educational opportunities.
* Provides feedback on training programs and suggests improvements.
* Coordinates organizational training events.
* Ensures training content is suitable for adult learners and vocational environments.
* Maintains excellent customer service standards.
* Stays updated on learning and development techniques and technologies.
* Participates in department meetings and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills & Abilities:
Education: GED or High School diploma required; AA degree, certification, or equivalent experience (2-year degree preferred); BA or BS preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in related field or 5 years of GISD experience at level 5 or 6, or a combination thereof.
Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, email, internet.
Certificates and Licenses: Valid CA driver’s license, proof of insurance, and acceptable driving record.
