About the Role
As Factory Production Manager, you will oversee end-to-end production across knitting, cutting, sewing and finishing. You will combine production planning, people leadership and systems thinking to ensure quality, efficiency and delivery targets are met.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and managing detailed production schedules aligned to customer demand and delivery timelines
* Coordinating procurement, inventory and production teams to ensure material and yarn availability
* Monitoring production progress and adjusting workflows as required
* Analysing production and inventory data to identify efficiencies and improvements
* Leading the implementation, optimisation and daily use of ERP systems
* Training and onboarding staff to ensure effective adoption of systems and production processes
* Liaising with external sourcing, suppliers and production partners
* Presenting weekly production schedules, capacity planning and inventory reports to senior management
* Using Excel to manage production data, schedules, capacity planning and reporting
* Supporting continuous improvement, quality control and best-practice manufacturing standards
About You
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in production planning or production management within apparel or textile manufacturing
* Proven ability to identify and resolve workflow and quality issues
* Strong experience using Excel for production planning, scheduling and reporting
* Clear communication skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams
* Experience with ERP systems, including onboarding and training teams
* Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skill
Preferred
* Strong technical garment construction knowledge, including pattern interpretation, sewing methods, knit construction and finishing techniques
* Experience across knitting, cutting, sewing and finishing departments
* Experience with Shima Seiki knitting machines (highly regarded)
* Exposure to dye house operations (bonus)
* Experience with circular knitting machines (advantageous)
