Senior Accounts and Payroll Officer Opportunities at Fun, Dynamic Coffee Company
Bellissimo Coffee is Australia’s highest awarded coffee roaster. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the financials and driving business outcomes across our group in consultation with founders and other senior leaders.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Develop strategies, models and programs to enhance Bellissimo Coffee’s growth, manage cash flow and maximise profits in partnership with the founders and business managers.
2. Prepare and present weekly and monthly business unit and venue performance reviews, budgets, and forecasts. Build and refine models and benchmarking tools to determine sales vs wage costs and COGS for each area of operations. Analyse financial data and provide insightful recommendations and strategies to the management team.
3. Manage Bellissimo Coffee’s group of operations’ payroll and super processing.
4. Work with external accountants with main company bookkeeping and ATO lodgements and undertake bookkeeping data entry activities for other related entities.
5. Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, risks and areas for improvement. Assist in making informed business decisions based on your analysis.
6. Monitor and control expenses and develop product input costs and pricing spreadsheets, and return on investment on capital models, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality and customer satisfaction.
7. Manage cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity to support daily operations and growth initiatives.
8. Work closely with all business units in supply contract negotiations and procurement and stock management practices and help conduct regular cost and pricing reviews.
9. Ensure the companies fulfil their legal obligations to satisfy the various Acts covering Corporations Law, PAYG, Payroll Tax, GST and FBT, etc.
10. Drive positive improvements across the company by identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and effective use of resources.
11. Champion the establishment of rigorous financial/accounting principles, policy, procedures and practices which adhere to legislative and corporate requirements.
12. Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
13. Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
14. Supervise monthly reconciliations and aged receivables to minimise company exposure.
15. Support processing of accounts payable and receivable for company income and purchasing.
16. Forecast revenue and expenditure monthly and report variances.

Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or CA qualification is preferred.
2. Proven experience as a Payroll or Accounts Officer or similar role in retail and hospitality industries is highly desirable.
3. Proficient in Xero, strong working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and familiarity with rostering/staff resourcing applications such as Tanda.
4. Excellent knowledge of data analysis, particularly business operations data analysis, budgeting and forecasting methods.
5. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and accuracy in reporting standards.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
7. Effective communication, organisational and leadership abilities.
8. Experience in labour force management, staff wages processing and data entry and analysis.
9. Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills and experience.
10. Previous experience in or working for the hospitality, manufacturing and/or retail industries.
11. Previous experience working closely with business owners and key decision makers.
12. A strong passion for numbers and desire to create new models for financial management.
