Job Description
* Design and manage DB2 LUW servers
* Build and operate a high-availability DB2 LUW environment, including pureScale
* Use and manage standard DB2 Data Movement Utilities
* Create and maintain DB2 database objects
* Monitor and optimize SQL performance, especially for Java JDBC applications
* Troubleshoot and resolve database and performance issues
* Implement and manage DB2 security features to protect sensitive data
* Support backup and recovery operations and strategies
* Collaborate with other teams to support the database lifecycle in development, test and production environments
Qualifications
* Solid basic Unix/Linux knowledge, especially RHEL Enterprise Linux
* Extensive experience with DB2 LUW versions 10.1, 10.5, and 11.5
* Skilled in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries
* Familiarity with DB2 utilities for maintenance and administration
* Hands-on experience with DB2 in high-availability environments (e.g., pureScale)
* Understanding of DB2 security mechanisms
* Proficiency in backup and restore methodologies
* Experience with tools typically found in DB2 environments
* Willingness to participate in on-call duties after onboarding
* An Upper-Intermediate level of English
* German at native level
