The role
Are you passionate about building organisational resilience and ensuring operational continuity in times of disruption? Join Yarra Valley Water as our Business Continuity and Resilience Specialist and play a key leadership role in helping us deliver on our ambitious 2030 strategy.
In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of resilience and business continuity practices across the organisation. You’ll be responsible for driving a proactive and coordinated approach to business recovery planning, ensuring we are well‑prepared to respond to and recover from any incident or disruption.

Your key responsibilities
* Lead Yarra Valley Water resilience and business recovery focus, by creating a positive culture, influencing and enabling the business to understand the impact and need for the business continuity plans and resilient practices.
* Build and maintain close and effective working relationships across the business and in particular with the YVW Emergency Management, Incident Management (IMT), Risk Management, Procurement, Disaster Recovery and IT Major Incident Management Teams.
* Manage and maintain YVW’s business continuity framework, Business Continuity Plans, Business Impact Analysis data, BCP testing regime and BCP performance metrics.
* Ensure a continuous improvement focus, translating lessons learned from BCP testing into pragmatic, actions to uplift YVW’s capability and responsiveness.
* Build and maintain the organisation’s knowledge base with respect to resilience and business continuity.
* Play a key coordination role in an activated Incident Management Team (IMT) as deemed necessary by the Incident Controller in the event of an incident or emergency.
* Work collaboratively with industry colleagues in Victorian water businesses to share knowledge and engage on industry outages.
* Support scenario planning and strategic resilience initiatives. Ensure compliance with evolving Business resilience regulatory requirements and industry standards.
What we’re looking for
* Extensive experience – 10+ years leading business continuity functions, including planning, implementation and recovery strategies.
* Strong influencer – Proven ability to negotiate and influence outcomes across all levels of the business.
* Skilled facilitator – Experience running workshops and delivering engaging training sessions.
* Effective stakeholder manager – Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities.
* Highly organised and resilient – Positive, adaptable and calm under pressure, with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
