We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Trade Marketing Manager to lead the development and execution of our retail marketing strategy for the Austrian market, across both offline and online channels. This role is pivotal in driving brand visibility, optimising in-store execution, and enabling sell-through via impactful merchandising, trade activations, and training initiatives.
About the Role
This position involves leading the trade marketing strategy specifically for Austria, ensuring alignment with regional and global brand directions while meeting local commercial objectives.
Responsibilities
* Strategy & Planning:
* Define and implement the Austria-specific trade marketing strategy, fully aligned with regional/global brand direction and local commercial objectives.
* Develop comprehensive channel and retailer-specific activation plans, playbooks, and execution guidelines.
* Merchandising & In-store Excellence:
* Brief and manage agencies/suppliers for the development of POS materials, displays, and retail toolkits tailored for the Austrian market.
* Oversee end-to-end in-store execution: from local adaptation and production to deployment, ensuring timely and flawless rollouts across key retail and distributor networks in Austria.
* Retailer & Partner Collaboration:
* Lead joint business planning and direct negotiations with key Austrian retailers (e.g., Elektrofachhändler, telecom operators, pure online players) to secure premium visibility, promotional spaces, and marketing support.
* Collaborate closely with the local sales team and Account Managers to tailor commercial offers and activations by channel and retailer.
* Training & Enablement:
* Design and localise product training modules, argumentations, and sales enablement tools for retail staff and distributor partners.
* Conduct engaging training sessions (in-person and digital) to ensure store teams are knowledgeable and confident in selling our products.
* Performance & Optimisation:
* Monitor and analyse campaign performance, sell-out data, and in-store execution quality through regular field audits, sell-through reports, and defined KPIs.
* Continuously optimise trade marketing initiatives based on ROI analysis, retailer feedback, and local market trends.
Qualifications
* Proven experience (3+ years) in trade marketing, retail activation, or channel marketing, ideally within the consumer electronics, technology, telco, or FMCG sectors. Experience in the Austrian retail landscape is a
strong advantage
.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Required Skills
* Strong project management skills with a proven ability to brief and manage agencies and suppliers.
* Ability to translate complex product portfolios into compelling retail narratives and simple sell-out messages.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. A confident and engaging trainer and presenter.
* Language proficiency:
Fluency in German and English is essential, both written and spoken.
* Excellent command of MS Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel). Familiarity with sell-out data tools is a plus.
* A creative, results-oriented, and hands-on mindset. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple stakeholders.
* Willingness to travel within Austria for field visits, retailer meetings, and trainings.
Preferred Skills
* Experience in the Austrian retail landscape.
* Familiarity with sell-out data tools.
