Role Description
ELI is seeking a committed and creative
PR Officer
to support the Secretary General in developing and implementing the Institute's PR strategy. Responsibilities include managing the ELI Newsletter, website, and other communication tasks. The position offers flexible working hours in an international and creative environment. The post starts in
January 2026
and is initially limited to one year, with possible extension.
Qualifications
* Alongside the Secretary General, the PR Officer will be in charge of working on ELI's PR and communication strategy
* The Officer in question will explore new communication channels and establish a network of press contacts to enhance the impact of dissemination of ELI activities and projects results
* They will also ensure that the ELI Newsletter, website and social media channels, essential aspects of ELI's PR strategy, continue evolving and bring the most up-to-date news to all ELI Members and externals
* The PR Officer will also be tasked to act as a liaison to some of ELI's Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and Hubs, enhancing ELI's international presence
* The position carries a great deal of individual responsibility and requires the ability to work independently as well as in a team
* It also requires great levels of innovation and creativity and a profound understanding of the aims and spirit of the organisation
* The PR Officer will also assist the team in the preparation of reports for ELI bodies and in the organisation of meetings and events, such as the ELI Annual Conference and Meetings
Requirements
* An undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as communication studies, international relations, graphic design or law, is required
* Excellent English skills are required.
* Excellent computer skills (knowledge of design programmes such as InDesign or Photoshop) is required
* Experience in video editing and social media content creation is an advantage
* Experience in project coordination and event management would be an asset as is work experience at international organisations
Please note the salary scheme of the University of Vienna (§54 VwGr IIIa) applies to this position. The minimum monthly salary is EUR 2,699.20 gross 14 times a year, increasing based on the years of relevant work experience, with a possibility for an additional overpayment.
