Application Specialist (Refractive Lasers)

Purpose of the Position

Application support for ZEISS refractive laser customers (training and product support) in the area of responsibility (Austria and South East Europe/SEE) with focus on customer satisfaction and volume increase of Treatment Packs.

Help to maximize the Refractive (REF) Laser market potential by cooperating with sales and service activities.

The Holder of the Position shall ensure that:

* Customer training is ensured for demo installations, as well as new installations as required, and in coordination with the Area Sales Managers REF and the Field Service Engineers.
* The development and expansion of demo and training concepts as well as regular after-sales follow-up training are carried out
* Sales is supported in the best possible way with sales-related measures
* Sales is supported with technical expert knowledge for technical and application questions regarding the refractive laser solutions as well as other complex product and IT systems
* Customer problems and complaints are handled in a timely and process-oriented manner.
* The sales team is regularly trained and informed.
* Sales negotiations are supported in the best possible way
* The support is provided in case of extensive project business, congresses, seminars, etc.
* All activities are documented in CRM

Funnel Management / Planning / Forecasting

* Provide all necessary data to prepare and execute planning with the ASM REF and the Management in a timely manner and of agreed quality.
* Establish and continuously maintain a sound data base and appropriate reporting to manage the business.

Trainings, workshops, clinical support

* Organization and implementation of clinical workshops
* Supervision of KOLs and, on a case-by-case basis, also clinical studies
* Training/instruction in the use of the products
* All relevant information of the business unit REF Laser is reported to all employees concerned in the entire sales area (Austria + SEE) as well as to HQ
* Long- and medium-term planning for the expansion of the business is proactively supported

Market and competition monitoring

* Continuous market and competition monitoring and documentation is carried out.
* List of competitive iBase is created with regular reporting to the Head of Sales OPT
* The Management and ASM REF are regularly informed about market trends and market changes

Marketing

* Identify effective marketing actions in the market and initiate and assist in their development with the marketing team.
* Where applicable, customers are supported with Practice Support Material (PSM) and Practice Development Consulting (PDC) from headquarters.

Reporting

* Regular exchange (monthly) with the Management and timely information in the case of larger or more complex projects.
* Regular feedback of customer concerns to the Management and Headquarter
* In cooperation with Service: preparation of complaints to Headquarter

Education:

* University or higher education degree or equivalent. In optometric, medical or technical education of advantage

Work Experience

* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the refractive or medical field (e.g., technical support or application), relevant sales support experience in company-like environment or similar markets
* Experience in the operating room (or regular presence in the operating room), ideally in the field of refractive surgery or other medical field

Other knowledge & skills

* Curious, eagerness to learn
* Feeling comfortable working with advanced technologies
* Good interpersonal and communication skills (able to arrange appointments, discuss difficult topics in a polite manner, etc.)
* Able to work under pressure (time wise and customer emotion)
* Willingness to work in operation room (OR) environment
* Customer orientation with a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize
* Is able to take initiatives, to organize himself / herself and to work independently
* Assuming responsibilities (taking ownership of tasks and outcomes)
* Solution oriented and analytic thinking
* Good time management skills (planning, prioritization, respecting time lines, flexible time management)
* Very good knowledge of both English + German language, both verbally and in writing.
* Knowledge in MS Office, IT affinity
* Working with colleagues of different nationalities and countries
* Highly willingness (ca. 50%) to travel in Austria and SEE; valid driving license
