This position is part of the Supplier Engineering and Technology team. SET is an organization that is innovative in manufacturing technology, materials, and supply chain design. In this position, you, as a Supplier Engineer, play a vital role with the suppliers. You will have the opportunity to work across organizational functions to resolve technical, quality, and production challenges, as well as develop excellence in product design and manufacturing within the mechatronics supply chain.
Candidate should be a result-driven, self-starter possessing strong interpersonal skills with a focus on supporting internal and external customers. The individual should also be capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities, and working independently within a close-knit team setting.
What You’ll Do
1. Coordinate and support investigation of key quality defects of components from customers and/or field service team to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
2. Drive the improvement of suppliers’ quality and manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery.
3. Act as liaison / technical lead for cross-functional projects including Build Verify and Production Readiness Review.
4. Audit and document supply base performance on critical process records and overall quality management systems.
5. Collaborate on the continuous development of the supply base through close teamwork with product management, global product groups, and supplier business managers.
6. Lead and be personally accountable for high-profile project timelines and milestones.
7. Continuously work on process improvement and developing Best Known Methods.
8. Provide technical support in Build, Test, and FQA to suppliers during product deployment and transition.
9. Perform standardized Supplier Quality Audits and administer Supplier Quality Scorecard for existing suppliers to promote continuous improvement.
10. Drive Root Cause and Corrective Action Analysis on defects and escalations.
Who We’re Looking For
* University degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
* Experience in one of the following areas:
o Mechatronics/Automation/Robotics/Computers/Controllers/PCBA/Sensors/Detectors.
o Fluid dynamics/Heaters/Pumps/Filters/Flow and Pressure Control; solid understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, mass/momentum/heat transfer.
* Creative thinking and strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
* Solid understanding of statistical process control and basic statistical analysis used in production settings.
* Solid understanding of equipment and component manufacturing processes.
* Experience in supplier process development & quality management.
* Understanding of failure analysis and problem-solving.
* Willingness to travel internationally and domestically.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of Semiconductor equipment, Capital Equipment industry, and its manufacturing processes.
* Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, in English.
* Statistical analysis skills including statistical process control and data analysis used in production settings.
* Knowledge in Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA).
* Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders or customers in technical matters.
What We're Offering
This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry in occupation group F. A higher payment is negotiable depending on education, expertise, and skills. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year.
