Job Introduction Frequentis AG with headquarters in Vienna is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. Worldwide, 500 customers with 45.000 workstations already trust our know-how and proven experience. The NIS (Network and Infrastructure Services) department designs, builds and services IT solutions for use in worldwide customer projects. The scope covers all IT infrastructure areas such as server/client HW, network, storage, virtualization, operating system, third-party applications and security. To strengthen our team we are looking for YOU, a self-motivated IT generalist with an interest in cloud technologies and automation! Key Tasks
1. Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN and security infrastructure (Cisco, Juniper)
2. Support projects through all phases — design, deployment, and acceptance
3. Troubleshoot complex network and connectivity issues in production and lab environments Implement redundancy, routing, and monitoring solutions (Zabbix)
4. Prepare and maintain up-to-date network documentation and topology diagrams
5. Collaborate closely with system, cloud, and security engineers to ensure seamless integration
6. Contribute to continuous improvement of network standards and automation
Key Qualifications
7. Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field
8. 3+ years of hands-on experience in network or security engineering
9. Strong understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, VPN, and firewalls
10. Experience with monitoring tools and configuration management CCNP / JNCIP certification or equivalent knowledge is an advantage
11. Strong analytical mindset, documentation skills, and team spirit
12. Familiarity with virtualization and hybrid cloud environments is an advantage
13. Fluent in English (German is an advantage)
