About the Role
Broadwater Private Day Hospital, opened in 2023, delivers high-quality surgical services across IVF, Gynaecology, Paediatric Dental Surgery, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, and Podiatric Surgery.
We are now seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Nursing to lead our day hospital operations. Reporting to the Regional DSU Manager, you will be responsible for providing strong clinical leadership and governance in line with the NSQHS Standards, while mentoring your team to deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate care.

A role with unique responsibilities
Reporting to the Regional Manager DSU, the DON will provide strategic and operational leadership, governance, and direction for the perioperative nursing services within the day surgery. The DON will also monitor and evaluate clinical practice and service delivery standards, lead and motivate a team of perioperative nurses, and most importantly, you will play a vital role in ensuring we deliver the best in class patient experience.
Accountabilities include:
* Providing strategic, operational, and clinical governance leadership across the Day Surgery Unit
* Leading, mentoring, and empowering your leaders to help build a high-performing, patient-focused team
* Maintaining accreditation and regulatory compliance, ensuring quality and safety across all services
* Partnering with surgeons, practice managers, and stakeholders to deliver seamless patient journeys
* Collaborating closely with the IVF Director of Nursing (QLD) to optimise scheduling for our IVF patients
* Overseeing financial performance and supporting growth initiatives in partnership with the Regional DSU Manager
* Fostering a positive, values-driven workplace culture aligned with Monash IVF Group’s purpose and goals
Ideal candidate
If you are energized and excited about making a real difference and helping people achieve their families, we would love to hear from you. The ideal candidate will have:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior nursing leadership role
* Current AHPRA registration (RN)
* Experience in Peri-operative Services or Theatre Management in an acute surgical setting
* In-depth knowledge of the Queensland healthcare system, including accreditation and compliance
* Strong surgical background, including gynaecology and IVF
* Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
* High-level organisational and time management skills
* Collaborative, adaptable, and proactive approach
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills
* Passion for outstanding patient care
* Team-oriented with strong relationship-building skills
* Results-driven with a positive, solution-focused mindset
* Exceptional attention to detail and accountability
