JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Coordinator II works in collaboration with the supervisor and constituencies to develop and implement relevant Continuing Education programs. This position is responsible for quality control, proofing of promotional material, understanding market segments, social media campaigns and ensuring courses are in keeping with established policies.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
* Designs, develops, schedules, organizes, implements, and evaluates classes for a variety of CE programs which may include, but not limited to: College for Kids, College for Teens, Culinary, Horticulture, Learning in Retirement, Traveling Classroom, Professional Development and Enrichment Programs.
* Ensures programs comply with MCC policies, state guidelines, and grant or contract requirements.
* Facilitates ongoing market research to ensure all non-credit courses are relevant and meet the needs of our constituencies.
* Partners with the Director of Continuing Education and external constituencies in growing the Continuing Education Program.
* Assists in the preparation of promotional material for Continuing Education, including proofing of marketing material.
* Ensures quality control and courses are in keeping with established policies.
* Understands market segments and social media campaigns.
* Continuously assesses market demand for high impact courses and programs.
* Attends work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned.
* Guides and supports part-time instructors to ensure their needs are met in terms of technology, class materials, pay schedules and special needs. In addition, follows up with instructors to confirm dates/times/location of scheduled courses/programs.
* Manages details related to recruiting new instructors and facilitate contracts according to established federal and MCC policies.
* Establishes and maintains effective partnerships with instructors, site supervisors, public school personnel, non-profit professionals, and MCC personnel.
* Monitor and evaluate course performance and student satisfaction; use feedback for continuous improvement.
* Assist with budgeting, enrollment tracking, and reporting for continuing education programs.
* Provides representation, oversight and coordination to various sites, as required.
* Attend work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in education, business, public administration, or related field.
* Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in program coordination, adult education, or a related area.
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with diverse populations.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning management or registration systems.
Preferred:
* Experience in a community college or continuing education setting.
* Knowledge of regional workforce trends and training needs.
* Familiarity with instructional design or curriculum development.
Working Conditions:
* Some evening or weekend work may be required.
* Occasional travel for outreach or program development activities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
* Knowledge of continuing education best practices for successful program development and execution.
* Knowledge of MCC Mission, customers, products, and procedures.
* Knowledge of building courses in the Ellucian Colleague system.
* Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Excel.
* Knowledge of Continuing Education courses, programs and procedures.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to maintain confidentially.
* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision to develop, coordinate, and implement programs.
* Knowledge of evaluation processes
* Knowledge of technology trends and embrace workplace change and efficiencies.
* Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor's degree.
* Two (2) years of full-time work-related experience in customer service and/or working directly in continuing education program development.
* Experience working within a higher education environment preferred.
* Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered.
* Ability to travel between campuses for meetings or position responsibilities.
* Must pass a background check.
