Hemlo Mining Corp Project site near Marathon, Ontario. 7/7 or 14/14 rotation, day and night shifts. Drive-in site – local positions and some positions with accommodations. Client approved site access. Drug and Alcohol Test.
Accountabilities
Safely prepare, position, and operate underground drilling equipment to achieve required blast hole layouts and install ground support in accordance with engineering specifications. Previous experience with project-specific drilling equipment is considered an asset.
Operate jumbos and bolting equipment efficiently and in a manner that supports maximum productivity while maintaining safe work practices. Ensure equipment is properly positioned, secured, and ready for continued use, with clear and thorough shift‑to‑shift handover.
Conduct daily pre‑operational inspections of all assigned equipment. Identify, document, and report mechanical or safety concerns to supervision and maintenance personnel. Complete and submit all required inspection records in accordance with site procedures.
Support team development by assisting with training, mentoring, and coaching coworkers as required to improve crew performance and operational efficiency.
Take an active role in continuous improvement by providing constructive feedback to site leadership on opportunities to enhance productivity, safety, and work processes. Regular collaboration with the engineering team will be required to support cycle optimization.
Perform a variety of tasks that support mine development activities, including scaling loose ground, installing rock bolts and ground support systems.
Read, interpret, and work in accordance with engineering drawings, development plans, and the ground support plans.
Carry out additional duties related to the role as assigned by supervision.
Qualifications
Must have Ontario Basic Underground Common Core.
Must have U0089 module.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a development miner.
