Engineering Manager to Chief Technology Officer
$130,000 – $160,000 per year plus equity
This role starts as the Engineering Manager for 3DM and should be ready to undertake a CTO role around February 2026. 3DM is an SME starting production of our new, world-first E-Blate industrial surface finishing electro-ablation machines.
The core tech and production design has already been developed and the first machines built. You and your small team will complete bringing them to market and supporting deliveries to new customers.
Reporting to our out-going Chief Technology Officer, the ideal candidate for this full-time role will have the responsibility and authority to direct and project manage the entire project.
The successful applicant would be involved in managing and overseeing the scaling of manufacturing and early production of the first-of-type surface finishing system. For the right individual, the position will rise up to the CTO role within 3 months and includes favourable equity options.
You will have authority and be responsible to:
Project manage the entire engineering and manufacturing project, including budget, of a first-of-type industrial machine used for the surface finishing of metal additive parts, with a particular focus on scaling of production.
Manage, build and direct the small engineering team, including new recruits.
Manage the design change process, identifying and evaluating improvements with consideration of feasibility, availability, costs and performance benefits.
Manage the scaling of production through suppliers as well as our own team.
Ensure all documentation, including manufacturing, assembly and servicing information, as well as regulatory compliance are covered.
Be a key driving member of the C-suite management team, reporting to the board.
