You accompany the firmware development process of our measuring instruments throughout the entire product life cycle – from architecture and design to implementation – and make a significant contribution to our next generation of products. We are looking for firmware developers (m/f/d) who not only excel technically but also enjoy international collaboration and are eager to contribute their expertise during a multi-year assignment at one of our producing subsidiaries abroad.
Job Description
Elaborate and maintain scalable firmware architectures for new generations of measuring instruments
Design, implementation, and optimization of firmware for embedded systems (ARM Cortex-M, STM32) in C++
Close collaboration with electronics engineers and support in designing firmware-relevant hardware modules
Planning, execution, and evaluation of tests to verify system requirements
Conducting code reviews, unit tests, and documentation of development progress
Active participation in product development from concept to series production as a core member of an interdisciplinary project team, working closely with international subsidiaries
Identifying, evaluating, and integrating new technological approaches into the development process
Qualifications
Explicit willingness to undertake a multi-year assignment abroad as an expatriate (1–3 years) at an international producing subsidiary (Germany, Switzerland, or the USA) after an initial one year onboarding period in Graz
Technical degree (University of Applied Sciences or Technical University), preferably in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, or similar
Professional experience in firmware development (RTOS or bare metal C/C++), ideally with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers
Solid Python skills
Ideally basic knowledge of electronics (analog/digital circuit design)
Experience with development tools (e.g., Git, JTAG debuggers, build systems like Make or CMake) is an advantage
Excellent command of written and spoken English (C1/C2 level)
German language skills are an advantage

We offer a fair and market-aligned salary based on the collective agreement for employees in the metal trade – adjusted to the regional conditions of the Styrian labor market. The minimum gross monthly salary for this position is €3.500 (based on full-time employment). What truly counts for us are your personality, your skills, and the experience you bring.
