Job Overview
We’re seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Project Operations Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team of Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and System Engineers in delivering complex digital healthcare projects across Victoria. This role offers a rare opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while driving performance and innovation for both the industry and our business.
Reporting to the Head of Project Management, you’ll oversee the successful planning, execution, and performance of a large Victorian project portfolio—20+ capital works projects ranging from $100K to $10M and spanning 2–36 months. You’ll ensure projects meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements, while building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. You’ll also influence commercial performance, strengthen client partnerships, and lead local implementation of national change initiatives across both greenfield and live healthcare environments.
Responsibilities
* Lead Project Delivery: Oversee the successful execution of a diverse portfolio of capital projects, ensuring timelines, budgets and client expectations are consistently met.
* Drive Performance Outcomes: Monitor delivery performance and financials, ensuring high-quality outcomes and strong project margins.
* Manage Risk: Proactively identify risks and recovery pathways to protect project integrity and client relationships.
* Team & Resource Leadership: Coach and support a multidisciplinary team and ensure optimal resource planning across the territory.
* Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure delivery success and satisfaction.
* Support Sales & Commercial Decisions: Partner with Sales and Commercial teams on tender responses, scoping, and delivery feasibility.
* Implement Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives that lift delivery capability, quality, and client value.
* Represent Territory Needs: Be the voice of the VIC team in national forums, sharing insights and aligning delivery with business goals.
* Champion Governance & Quality: Ensure alignment to Rauland’s delivery frameworks, quality standards, and safety practices.
Qualifications
* Proven Portfolio Leadership: Demonstrated success managing a complex program of external, multi-site projects — ideally within healthcare, construction, or technology environments.
* Strong Commercial Acumen: Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, and driving cost‑effective outcomes.
* Experienced People Leader: Track record of building and enabling high‑performing project delivery teams.
* Client‑Centric Communicator: Able to confidently engage with stakeholders, clients, and partners to manage delivery expectations and solutions.
* Technically Savvy: Knowledge of telecommunications, healthcare technology or construction‑based installations preferred.
* Process & Quality Champion: Familiarity with project governance frameworks, ISO or similar standards, and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Qualifications & Certifications: Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (desirable), PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification (advantageous), Eligible to drive unsupervised in Australia, Valid Working with Children Check and General Construction Induction (White or Blue Card).
