The Senior Medical Manager Austria will directly support the Associate Medical Director Austria and will be a key contact for Market Access teams, various Medical teams, and Clinical Operations. The role involves reviewing and approving medical content in reimbursement dossiers and in the approval process for promotional materials and medical communication related documents. It includes supporting teams with deep data knowledge and an out-of-the-box thinking attitude, and working closely with HEOR for real-world evidence generation. The role requires close interaction with local Market Access and Commercial teams to ensure strategic dialogue with local specifics from a medical perspective and will support Medical Affairs and Clinical Operations in clinical development trials (Phase I – III) and non-interventional trials (Phase IV). The incumbent will contribute to establishing BeOne Medicines as a valued collaborator and leading biopharmaceutical company in Austria.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with Market Access and Commercial teams to support reimbursement and Market Access strategies for the BeOne Medicines portfolio; shape the reimbursement environment and provide medical input to payer strategies.
* Review and approve local promotional materials and medical communication documents; support medical publication plans and publication-related deliverables (e.g., MSL decks, Scientific Communication Platforms); provide training for employees and new starters.
* Support local congresses and meetings with content and reviews for hematology and oncology; coordinate investigator-sponsored research and help develop data-generation ideas from the market.
* Provide medical input for strategic feasibilities, indication mappings, site selections, and study initiation in collaboration with Clinical Operations and Field Medical Advisors; participate in company-sponsored studies (Phase I – III) and non-interventional trials (Phase IV).
* Ensure strong understanding of reimbursement and health care policy; contribute medical perspectives in cross-functional Market Access activities and participate in hearings and negotiations as needed.
* Collaborate across HEOR and Customer engagement; engage with external stakeholders and participate in government forums and industry group meetings.
* Review and approve local promotional and medical materials (symposia slides, scripted responses, Q&As, FAQs, standard letters); support training and education initiatives for local staff.
* Coordinate preparation for local congresses in collaboration with customer engagement; monitor local product trends to guide content strategy and documents.
* Drive continuous improvement of medical processes and deliverables; coordinate site selection, study initiation visits, and educational activities with the Field Medical Advisor team to support recruitment goals.
* Work cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Commercial, Market Access, and Communications; ensure alignment with company strategy.
Experience and Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years of experience in biotech/pharmaceutical companies; experience in Medical Affairs, reimbursement topics, Medical Information, and Clinical Development is a plus.
* Track record in Hematology/Oncology; high level of written and verbal communication; strong interpersonal, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
* Flexibility to work in an international setting; ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.
* Supervisory/leadership capabilities; ability to collaborate in dynamic environments and manage projects or teams effectively.
* Strong understanding of the health care delivery system, managed care, and the ability to identify unmet medical, educational, and research needs at local and regional levels.
* Ability to interpret key scientific data and translate findings into educational and research activities; understanding of study design and strategic implications; emotional intelligence and appreciation of diversity.
* Experience designing or leading training initiatives and best practices; results-driven with strong time management and organizational skills.
