Overview of Role
Reporting to Partner Product Innovation and Development (PPID) Director - EMEA, this role will help lead the PPID team in ensuring that all Brand Partner configurations transform fit and performance, making the best gear even better. In the future, this role will directly lead at least one Development Support Specialist and will be a mentor and leader for them throughout the BOA development process. The PPID Team Lead will also build deep relationships with brand partners and an advanced understanding of BOA’s products, including how components interact with each other, the materials they are installed in and the environment in which they will be used. Leveraging leadership and brand partner knowledge, this role will help the team strategically prioritize their project workflows, and will support with Brand Partner and factory relationships so that the PPID team can effectively move projects forward while meeting the individual requirements of each project.
Core Responsibilities
Reflect and role model BOA’s vision, values and Leadership Model and demonstrate passion for our mission across the PPID team and rest of the organization
Lead, coach and develop Development Support Specialists in all aspects of working with our Brand Partners to integrate BOA configurations into product design
Work with your direct reports to set and review performance/development goals, discuss feedback regularly throughout the year, and formally summarize during performance reviews
Collaborate with Brand Partners in creating performance fit configurations to make the best gear even better
Provide detailed consultation on design guidelines to optimize fit, performance and durability
Work with Commercial and PPID Teams to ensure deliverables to Brand Partners and Factory Partners meet their development needs
Review all product samples with the PPID team, provide feedback, and assist with any necessary follow-up communication to Brand Partners, their factories, and/or our BOA Factory training teams regarding the findings of the review
Give final approval to Brand Partners on all products within your team’s segments, ensuring they meet performance fit, segment configuration strategy, durability, manufacturing capability and product differentiation needs of the segments
Maintain consistent communication and feedback with PPID leadership on your team’s alignment with Global PPID strategy
Become an expert in the BOA product offering and build a complete understanding of installation requirements, ideal use, material properties, limitations, and how they perform in various configurations, applications, and environments
Work with BOA’s Factory Training teams and our Factory Partners to learn the correct of installation of BOA’s products so that you can conduct training for Brand Partners or their factories when needed, and so you can help update BOA’s installation documents
Required Qualifications
3+ years experience in product development (footwear development or footwear manufacturing preferred)
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude to quickly learn BOA’s products and components
Demonstrated leadership skills and desire to lead a team and help mentor others
Experience working on projects where limited standardization exists and variables change
Desire to use your organized project management approach to maintain our fast pace and manage multiple deadlines
Ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse groups of people across the globe
Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 20%
Desired Qualifications
Experience in footwear development or footwear manufacturing in one of the segments BOA operates in
Ability to use graphic design software, preferably in the Adobe suite
Knowledge of CAD Software (we use OnShape and have historical documents in SolidWorks)

For legal reasons, we are obliged to point out the minimum salary for this position according to the collective agreement, which is from 2303.- EUR gross per month. However, our attractive salary packages are based on current market salaries and are therefore significantly above the stated minimum salary, depending on your experience and skills.
