Own the challenge as a product specialist in the Motion Austria team. You will be responsible for ABB products, systems, services and solutions in the IEC low‑voltage motors area, serving as the technical interface between manufacturing, local sales and customers. Proactively drive business development and portfolio optimisation in line with divisional strategy. Translate market requirements into competitive offer specifications. Manage product‑related support, consulting, market introduction and positioning. Identify new product development opportunities and define innovative solutions for specific customer needs. Support local sales and marketing managers, handle technical inquiries on drive systems and advise customers. Maintain relevant tools for ABB products and services; prepare product and presentation materials. Develop and deliver product and application training on drive and digital solutions for internal and external stakeholders. Participate in trade fairs and events to showcase our portfolio. Define business performance targets and establish KPIs for revenue, earnings, margins and profitability. Drive profitable growth and market share expansion through strategic initiatives, market and competitive analysis. Promote continuous improvement initiatives, analyse market trends and gaps, and implement corrective measures. Support product pricing and lead times, contribute to offers, execute offer lifecycle management, and ensure technical solutions are leveraged across the portfolio. Document all activities in internal tools and in the central CRM system Salesforce. Requirements
Completed HTL or higher‑level qualification in electrical engineering, power electronics, mechatronics, automation technology, mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline. Fluent communication skills in German (C1 minimum) and English (B2 minimum), both written and spoken. Strong business acumen with proven experience in business development, sales strategy or product management in electric motors, drives or industrial automation. At least 5 years of experience in product management or product development in electric motors, drives or related industrial equipment. Hands‑on knowledge of motor applications and in‑depth technical expertise in IEC low‑voltage motors, motion control solutions, motor sizing and industrial applications. Proficiency in motor‑specific tools, platforms and technical specification management systems relevant to low‑voltage motor design and lifecycle management. Excellent collaboration with stakeholders from engineering, product development, manufacturing, supply chain, sales teams and local and global business units. Strong analytical skills and market orientation; ability to assess the competitive landscape, identify growth opportunities and translate energy‑efficiency trends and regulatory requirements into actionable strategies. The company is willing to offer compensation above the minimum depending on qualifications and experience.
