Job Description:
Your tasks:
5. Independent research and acquisition of research funds in the field of geoinformatics; planning, realisation and management of scientific projects
6. Independent organisation and teaching of courses in the field of GIS
7. Supervision of final theses in BSc Geography and MSc Geography: Global Change and Regional Sustainability programmes
8. Scientific publications
9. Participation in university self-administration
Your profile:
10. Relevant, completed degree and doctorate in geography or relevant neighbouring disciplines
11. Sound theoretical and practical knowledge of the entire spectrum of geoinformatics methods
12. Extensive practical experience with the processing of geographic data in various software packages (preferably ESRI, QGIS, R, Python)
13. Willingness and enthusiasm to teach in the bachelor and master curricula of geography
14. Adequate publication record in international peer-reviewed journals
15. Experience with geostatistics
16. Experience and success in the acquisition of third-party funded projects
17. Excellent German and English language skills
18. International experience an advantage
19. Independent, team-oriented, organised way of working, project-related cooperation and communication skills
20. Ability to work in a team
