Chief People Officer

About The Role
As the business enters a pivotal phase of growth, scale, and transformation, it is seeking to appoint its first Chief People Officer, a key member of the Leadership team. The role involves designing and leading a progressive people strategy that drives high performance, cultural cohesion, and scalable growth across their geographical markets. Reporting directly to a visionary CEO known for innovative thinking and strong commercial acumen, this role will align people and performance with the business strategy. The focus is on attracting and retaining talent, fostering a great culture, and revenue growth. The role supervises 9 direct reports across HR, L&D/OD, payroll, and recruitment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Strategic Leadership & Alignment: Lead the development and execution of a Group-wide People, Culture, and Capability strategy aligned with business goals and ESG commitments.
* Executive & Leadership Development: Partner with the ELT to build a high-performing leadership team and implement development programs.
* Talent & Workforce Planning: Design and embed a talent management and resourcing strategy supporting future growth.
* Culture, Engagement & Change: Drive employee engagement and cultural alignment, especially during mergers and acquisitions.
* Operational Excellence in People Systems: Oversee HR policies, payroll, systems, and technologies for compliance, efficiency, and quality employee experience.
* Governance & Reporting: Provide workforce insights to the Executive Team and Board, ensuring HR practices meet standards and support performance.
About You
You will be an experienced leader in a similar role, preferably within an ASX-listed or private-equity backed business, with a proven track record in fast-paced, commercial environments, especially through mergers and acquisitions.
* Proven executive experience and tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or related fields.
* A leadership style characterized by resilience, commercial focus, and a history of exceeding goals in high-pressure environments.
* You lead with authenticity, challenge the status quo confidently, and craft innovative people strategies that create a competitive advantage.
* You excel at influencing senior leaders and building trusted relationships across organizations.
* You have built and led high-performing HR teams that deliver tangible commercial value and operate as true business partners.
This role requires a valid National Police check and Drivers Licence.
