Future Tasks
* Support scientists of the aerosol group in assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical/electronic components, devices and measurement instruments.
* Develop microcontroller‑based control systems and design new systems for control and data acquisition, including design and assembly of printed circuit boards.
* Layout power supplies and wire devices and sensors; select suitable components and order them.
* Support the aerosol group in IT tasks.
* Support monitoring of measurement instruments and data collection during multiweek measurement campaigns with research aircraft abroad, in cooperation with international partner institutions.
* Support ongoing operation of the laboratory (calibration, maintenance and spare parts management/orders).
* Create and maintain technical documentation.
Requirements
* HTL Matura plus relevant professional experience (ideally HTL engineer) or equivalent education (state‑certified technician (D) or relevant degree (Bachelor)) with a focus on electrical engineering/(micro‑)electronics or similar.
* Experience in design, implementation and layout of microcontroller systems, including PCBs from circuit diagram to prototype.
* Programming skills.
* Very good knowledge of English (C1+).
* Willingness to travel internationally for measurement campaigns in the USA and other countries, typically several weeks.
* Reliable, regular presence in the laboratory on site in Vienna.
* Ability to work in a structured, goal‑oriented and independent manner.
* Ability to work in a team and flexibility in the area of responsibility.
* Capability to participate in research flights.
* Class B driving licence.
Desirable
* Knowledge of common interfaces and protocols.
* Experience with 3D printing and CAD programs.
* Ability to improvise.
* IT skills (hardware/software, networks).Experience with measurement campaigns (especially aircraft measurements).
* Knowledge of German or willingness to acquire it.
