Lead the red meat category at Moco Meats, driving strategy, margin, and growth across beef, pork, and lamb in a hands‑on, commercially focused leadership role.
About the Role
The Category Manager – Meat plays a critical leadership role in shaping, optimising, and growing Moco Food Services’ red meat portfolio across beef, pork, and lamb. This role owns the end-to-end category strategy, ensuring Moco Meats delivers a compelling, profitable, and operationally sound meat range to market.
Balancing strategy with day-to-day execution, the role works closely with Procurement, Production, Sales, Operations, Finance, QA, and Master Data to drive pricing accuracy, margin performance, supplier outcomes, and long‑term category growth. You’ll also partner closely with the Category Manager – Poultry to ensure alignment across protein categories while maintaining clear ownership of red meat.

You’re a commercially minded meat category professional who understands how sourcing, yield, pricing, and production decisions impact profitability. You’re confident working at pace, comfortable making calls, and thrive in environments where you can influence outcomes across multiple teams.
You enjoy being close to the detail but can also step back to think strategically, using market insight, data, and supplier relationships to continuously improve category performance.
Skills, Experience & Attributes
* Demonstrated experience in meat category management, procurement, or commercial roles within foodservice or protein processing.
* Strong knowledge of beef, pork, and lamb products, specifications, and supply chains.
* Proven success managing pricing, margins, and supplier negotiations in volatile market conditions.
* Experience working closely with production environments, including yield and cut performance considerations.
* Strong commercial acumen with a clear focus on profitability, optimisation, and sustainable growth.
* Confident communicator able to influence across Procurement, Sales, Production, and Operations.
* High attention to detail across specifications, pricing accuracy, and system data.
* Hands‑on, practical mindset with the ability to balance strategy and execution.
* Work within Moco’s brand new, state‑of‑the‑art facility in Wacol, with plenty of on‑site parking available.
