About the Role
We're seeking a commercially astute General Manager, Commercial to lead and transform the front-end commercial operations across the group. This role is about driving growth, protecting margins, and building scalable systems that support sustainable expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own all front-end commercial activities: client relationships, estimating, pricing, and pre-construction handover;
* Lead a team of 30+ across business development, estimating, assessment, and scheduling functions;
* Drive direct relationships with insurers, brokers, strata managers, and commercial clients;
* Implement systems and processes that improve assessment accuracy, quote turnaround, and handover quality;
* Protect and improve margins through better pricing strategies and commercial discipline;
* Identify and pursue growth opportunities beyond core insurance work; and
* Work closely with senior leadership on system implementation and performance reporting.
What You'll Achieve:
* Transition commercial operations toward a more strategic approach;
* Build scalable processes that support significant revenue growth;
* Establish the business as a preferred partner across multiple client segments; and
* Create a high-performing commercial team with clear KPIs and accountability.
About You:
We're looking for a proven commercial leader with experience in high-volume operations. You will have high energy and understand that success comes from systems, processes, and disciplined execution.
Essential Requirements:
* Strong leadership background in high-volume operations (logistics, facilities management, maintenance, construction services);
* Demonstrated systems thinking with evidence of implementing scalable processes;
* Experience managing multi-site teams and subcontractor networks;
* Proven track record in client-facing commercial roles with P&L impact;
* Comfortable with KPIs, pipeline forecasting, and performance management; and
* Not afraid to challenge existing practices and drive accountability.
Highly Regarded:
* Experience in insurance, strata, construction services, or similar client-facing delivery environments;
* Track record of growing revenue streams while maintaining service standards;
* Strong negotiation and presentation skills; and
* Data-driven approach to decision making.
