A career-defining leadership opportunity exists for an experienced logistics and transport leader to take ownership of a major logistics operation and help shape the next phase of growth within a rapidly growing national 3PL provider. With significant growth and operational transformation underway, we are seeking a high-calibre State Manager to lead a large-scale warehouse and transport network across multiple sites. This role carries full accountability for operational performance, financial outcomes and leadership capability across the state. This is a high-impact leadership position suited to a commercially minded operations leader who thrives in complex environments and enjoys building high-performing teams while delivering strong service and financial outcomes.
The Opportunity
* Reporting to senior leadership, you will lead and optimise a multi-site logistics network across Queensland, overseeing 5 W/Hs plus offsite storage and last mile transport operations.
* You will take ownership of a substantial operational footprint including:
o Multiple distribution facilities across Queensland.
o A large operational workforce including 90 drivers and 32 warehouse team members.
o Direct leadership of 3 senior operational managers.
o Full operational and financial accountability including P&L responsibility.
* Your focus will be to drive operational excellence across safety, productivity, cost control and customer service, while supporting the next phase of business growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day operations across a large-scale logistics and distribution network.
* Drive operational performance against financial, service and safety KPIs.
* Build strong relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders.
* Manage and optimise operational budgets and cost structures.
* Identify opportunities to improve network efficiency and operational performance.
* Support business growth initiatives and customer engagement activities.
* Improve productivity across warehouse and transport operations.
* Ensure freight is handled safely, efficiently and in line with operational standards.
* Deliver accurate operational reporting and performance visibility.
* Champion a strong safety-first culture across all operations and lead safety initiatives and CI programs.
* Lead, coach and develop a high-performing leadership team.
* Manage workforce planning and productivity across multiple sites.
* Foster a culture of CI and operational excellence.
About You
* An experienced senior 3PL logistics and operations leader with a track record of managing complex, multi-site operations and delivering strong commercial outcomes.
* Managed multi-site warehouse/distribution operations.
* Strong commercial acumen with P&L management experience.
* Have led large operational teams including drivers and warehouse staff.
* A strong negotiator with excellent stakeholder management and customer engagement skills.
* Sound analytical, planning and operational decision-making capabilities.
* A CI mindset with a laser sharp focus on operational efficiency.
* Experience working with SAP, WMS and/or TMS systems, (highly regarded).
* Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or Commerce are preferred.
