The Legal and Compliance Specialist supports the day‑to‑day delivery of Sandoz Austria’s Legal & Compliance activities with a 50/50 focus on corporate governance, corporate legal and overarching Country L&C matters and Legal & Compliance support for Commercial Operations. The role contributes to the implementation of global and local Compliance requirements and supports adherence to applicable legal and regulatory standards, working in close alignment with the Head Legal & Compliance Austria and the Legal & Compliance Manager.

On the corporate side, the role is responsible for operational corporate legal work, including maintaining company records, drafting resolutions, minuting meetings, preparing corporate documentation, and coordinating with external law firms and notaries as well as supporting on overarching Country L&C matters in alignment with the Head Legal & Compliance.


Your Key Responsibilities


Corporate Governance & Corporate Legal Matters (approx. 50%)

* Support and coordinate company management and corporate governance for the Austrian legal entities in close alignment with the Head Legal & Compliance Austria.
* Prepare and manage operational corporate legal work, including drafting resolutions, minuting meetings, maintaining company registers, and managing corporate documentation.
* Coordinate shareholder, supervisory board, and auditor meetings, including agendas, materials, and documentation.
* Act as coordination and operational point of contact for external law firms, notaries, auditors, and internal stakeholders on corporate governance matters as well as any internal reporting requirements within Sandoz Group / Headquarters.
* Support statutory filings, WiEReG reporting, corporate archiving, and annual financial‑statement‑related corporate documentation in collaboration with Finance.
* Support Country L&C Head on any Country related L&L matters.


Legal & Compliance Support for Commercial Operations (approx. 50%)

* Support the implementation and execution of global and local Legal & Compliance policies, processes, and requirements under the guidance of senior Legal & Compliance roles.
* Contribute to audit readiness, audit coordination, and remediation activities.
* Support key Global Compliance processes and tools (e.g. CORE, Conflicts of Interest, Risk Assessments, ERM, audits, TPRM, Contract Management, Contract Lifecycle Management, Dawn Raid Guidance, Training Material).
* Provide operational legal and compliance support on defined topics, escalating complex or high‑risk matters as appropriate.
* Support compliance awareness activities, trainings, investigations, contract applications, and legal reporting within defined scope.


Essential Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

* Austrian law school or business law school (Bachelor degree) or advanced in the studies.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills in written.
* Minimum 1 year of experience in a coordination / administrative role, ideally including managing or supporting Legal work and projects.
* Fluent in English and German.
* Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple topics in parallel in a structured and reliable manner.
* Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to understand and assess legal and compliance issues within a defined scope and escalating appropriately.
* Very good written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in interacting with internal stakeholders and external partners in a professional and discreet manner.
* Ability to work independently on operational legal and compliance matters while aligning closely with senior Legal & Compliance colleagues.
* High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling corporate legal documentation, compliance processes, and regulatory requirements.
* Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, sound judgment, and integrity.
* Good understanding of legal terminology and compliance concepts, with the ability to apply policies, procedures, and guidelines in practice.
* Ability to work effectively under time pressure and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and confidence in working with legal and compliance systems and repositories.
* Professional, reliable, and culturally sensitive working style, with openness to change and continuous improvement.

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is EUR 59.781,96/year (on a full‑time basis). In most cases, however, the actual salary will be higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
