Hardware Design Engineer with Willingness to Work Abroad (f/m/x) You develop innovative measuring instruments and are responsible for the electronic design – from concept and circuit development to series production transfer. In doing so, you collaborate closely with international sites and contribute your expertise worldwide.
Responsibilities
Development of an electronics concept in coordination with other departments
Creation of overview diagrams such as block diagrams
Design and creation of circuits and circuit diagrams in cooperation with specialist departments
Development of a test concept for printed circuit boards in coordination with manufacturing
Approval of PCB designs after completion of the PCB artwork by the PCB design team
Execution of verification measurements on circuits and assemblies
Support during the transition to series production, including verification and EMC testing
Implementation of necessary modifications in series products and active involvement in problem‑solving during serial production
Active participation in product development from concept phase to series production transfer in close collaboration with international subsidiaries as well as departments such as software, mechanical design, manufacturing, and product management
Explicit willingness to undertake a multi‑year assignment abroad as an expatriate (1–3 years) at an international producing subsidiary (Germany, Switzerland, or the USA) after an initial one year onboarding period in Graz
Willingness to travel: 10–20%
Qualifications
Completed studies in electrical engineering or a related field
At least 3 years of experience in electrical engineering
Knowledge of circuit design and verification
Experience with safety and regulatory requirements (e.g., EMC, CE, UL) advantageous
Hands‑on experience in the lab and workshop (e.g. electrical measurement instrumentation, soldering)
Very good written and spoken English skills (C1/C2)
Very good written and spoken German skills (C1/C2) is an advantage
Strong team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
High standards of quality, precision in work, and analytical thinking
